Vintage Store De Plek

Urban Corners | Lifestyle & Culture

“De Plek” is Dutch for “The Place”. And this is not just a place, this is THE place for vintage products. From a fun idea to a neat little shop. De Plek was started by two students who seized the opportunity to rent out the perfect location for a store that provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Adress: Ossekop 1

Opening Times: Monday: 1AM – 6PM Tue – Fri: 10AM – 6PM Saturday: 10AM – 5PM

Pricing: $$

Atmosphere: laid-back, cozy

Shirts, dresses, shoes, jeans, they have it all. With the owners’ appreciation of second-hand items and a retro fashion sense, De Plek focuses on classic clothing styles. From clothes to jewellery, all the products that can be found in De Plek are gathered from different parts of Europe. What’s more, sometimes products are even placed outside, not only giving passer-by a hint of what they can find inside but also luring them into the small and cosy shop. The only thing that visitors should keep in mind is that the store can sometimes be a little overcrowded, as it is not of the biggest size.

The thrift store is located at Ossekop 1, which is right in the heart of Leeuwarden. Being placed so centrally, De Plek is very accessible with public transport. A walk from the train station will only take you around ten minutes, biking even less. If you are planning for a shopping day with your friends, then you are just two minutes away from all the big clothes retailers such as The Sting, G-Star or H&M.

Are you finished with your shopping ventures and want to sit down, grab something to eat and enjoy the rest of your day? Some great options situated right next to De Plek are “Pizzeria Pompei” and tapas restaurant “Las Tapas”.  So, for anyone looking to revamp their wardrobe for the upcoming season, De Plek is where to go!
