Dear Feminist
‘Dear Feminist’ is a podcast about feminism. In this series we discuss the four waves of feminism in The Netherlands and abroad in six episodes. Who the important people were, what the important events were and the key moments from the waves will all be discussed. There will not only be looked at the past, in between the information the hosts will be talking about how big changes that were achieved back then still has an effect now, the things that still haven’t changed, the experience of the hosts with feminism. In the first episode we talk about the first wave, in the second and third episodes about the second wave, the fourth and fifth episode talk about the third wave, and we close the sixth episode with the fourth wave and look at feminism today.

Breaking the chains
In the very first episode, we go back to the beginning of feminism in the Netherlands. We will discuss the first feminist wave and how it started in the Netherlands. Think of women like Aletta Jacobs and Wilhelmina Drucker. In the episode, we will also cover important events such as the demonstration in Amsterdam and the attainment of universal suffrage.
Dolle Mina’s and the fight for woman’s right
In this episode we talk about the beginning of the second wave of feminism which starts in 1960. We talk about the first legal form of birth control, the first gay parade and the rebellion group the Dolle mina’s who did everything to make a change.
Legacy of the second wave
In this episode, we talk about the second half of the second wave we talk about the women only movement, monopoly being invented by a woman and the Roe v. Wade case. One of the important women we discuss is Gloria Allred a woman who does not take no for an answer.
Beyond the binary
In this episode, we are going to look at the third wave of feminism, and we will be talking about Kimberlé Crenshaw with her intersectionality, Patricia Hill Collins and her matrix of domination. The woman seen as the founder of the third wave, Rebecca Walker, will be discussed as well, with the article and the open letter she has written.
Let the tradition go
In this episode, we are going to cover the second half of the third wave. The role of post-modernism in the feminism movement will be discussed. We will also talk about the LGBTQ+ movement and the queer theory. Besides this we will be talking about how the dual earner model came to be and the up- and downsides of this model, some of our own stories will be shared as well. At the end of the episode, it is mentioned how digitalization makes the third wave different from the first and second wave.
Modern Era
In the final episode of the series, we look at feminism today and how we personally experience it. We also discuss topics such as the entire situation surrounding abortion in America and those involved. In the episode, we also cover various important recent events, such as the prohibition of celebrating the championship of Ajax's women's team and the case of Roxana Ruiz. We conclude the episode by describing how we came to feminism and how it has inspired us.
