Dinner at Yours
Dinner at Yours’ brings together four different character types of students and challenges them to host a dinner for each other, using a secret ingredient given to them. Each contestant strives to create a memorable experience for their guests, and win the title “NHL’s best host”. In order to make sure a connection is being built, the contestants play a special “Dinner at yours” questions card game, which encourages them to open up and reveal more about themselves. At the end of the week, the participants are reminded of the importance of quality time spent together without technology distractions. The audience gets not only groceries tips and easy recipe inspiration, but also the urge to have a meaningful in-person interaction with friends, which can be achieved through an interesting conversation over a home-cooked meal.
Episodes
Episode 1 - “What’s cooking?”
The NHL Stenden's most acclaimed culinary reality show has begun: during the first episode, the brilliant presenters of Dinner at Yours, Matyas and Roberto, will introduce the four intrepid participants who will compete for the title of 'NHL's Best Host'. One by one, the 4 of them will answer personal questions, and share their cooking habits and skills, thus letting the audience know a bit about themselves. After extracting the order in which they will have to cook, but most importantly, the secret ingredient they will have to use, everything is ready for the first dinner. Who will provide the most entertaining night? We shall see…
Episode 2 - “Josh’s housemaid transformation ”
The time for the first evening has come: Josh is the first contestant to cook and he is more ready than ever. After buying the ingredients, he will cook his dish explaining the process and why he chose it. Once the other contestants have arrived, the 4 of them will start eating while playing the special 'Dinner at Yours' card game which will give a little "push" to get to know each other and have meaningful conversations. After dinner, Josh will delight them with his surprise, which will leave everyone open-mouthed.
Episode 3 - “At Evelyn’s with Pasta, Crypto and Hippies”
In the third episode, Evelyn will be the host for the evening, and she has decided to stick to tradition by cooking a typical student dish for her guests. After buying the ingredients, she will start cooking, explaining the steps and what binds her to the dish she chose. Once the other participants have arrived they will start eating, while playing the second part of the Dinner at Yours card game, to continue getting to know each other and building relationships. At the end of the dinner, the three guests will rate the evening provided by Evelyn.
Episode 4 - “Ali and the collaboration between China and Thailand”
The cooking competition continues with the fourth episode at Ali's house, the third participant of "Dinner at yours”. Before heading to the supermarket, Ali will write a grocery list, set up the table as well as tidy the kitchen and living area, in order to welcome his guests. After all the contestants have arrived, everyone will catch up with one another, enjoy Ali’s dinner creation, participate in entertaining group games and give their individual final grading as well as opinion on the evening ambiance and in particular the served meal.
Episode 5- “Yasmin and the magical flute”
Last, but certainly not least is Yasmine’s dinner and the final evening before the Finale for our contestants. Yasmine has written down her grocery list and what she needs to cook her 3-course meal before going to the closest supermarket. She will set the table up and clean up the seating area to welcome the guests. Once all of them are present, they will continue with their conversations and play the card game over a meal prepared by Yasmine. Afterward, they will give their final ratings and with this, the dinners conclude and we wait for the Finale
Episode 6 - “A wholesome ending”
And with the sixth episode, the show comes to an end. The final episode of “Dinner at yours” is made and created with the idea to look back at every evening, collect memories together, and nominate the winner of this dinner competition. This final come-together will happen in a group setting, including all four participants/ chefs of the show along with one presenter, recurring from the pilot. ‘Slice it up’ wants to create a cozy, fun, and lighthearted scenery within this last episode.
