Brief

As four filmmakers from Rotterdam we saw that Amsterdam is bursting with studios. We saw little supply in Rotterdam and noticed that there is a large potential sales market. That’s why we built a full-service studio ourselves. The Vierhaven Studio is a film/photo studio that can be rented by content makers. Despite the high-quality facilities and convenient location, the studio faces a challenge in attracting enough customers.

How do you tell a story about yourself? About whom you are and what you do. This is exactly what we look for at studio New West when making a film. Authenticity cannot be created; it can only be achieved. By asking the right questions and a curious look, we come to the essence of a story. To capture this story, we use our favorite medium: film. We do this with documentaries and corporate stories. We make these on commission for companies and organizations. Cultural or commercial, but always from a human perspective.

Introduction Vierhaven Studio

The Vierhaven Studio is a collaboration by Studio New West, Any Color You Like and Yorick Leusink Cinematography. After meeting at the Willem de Kooning Academy and further down the line meeting again at Spek Design Dock, we decided to collaborate our combined knowledge of film, audio and creative development into one communal space for our productions. This idea quickly grew into the open space we have for rent today.

AIM

The aim of this assignment is developing an effective marketing strategy for Vierhaven Studio, with the main goal of increasing visibility of the studio and attracting more tenants. As a third-year Creative Business student, you are expected to develop an innovative and creative marketing strategy for Vierhaven Studio. This strategy should focus on several parts of the marketing funnel: improving brand awareness and attracting new tenants.

Content Deliverables

You should take the following aspects into account:

  1. Market Analysis: Conduct thorough research into the current market, competitors, and potential customer groups.
  2. Marketing Strategy: Develop a strategic marketing plan that leverages both traditional and digital marketing channels. Be creative in your approach to differentiate the studio from competitors.
  3. Communication plan: Create an effective communication plan for the unique points of sale

  4. SEO research: Do thorough research into suitable SEO for the website.
  5. Budgeting: Consider a realistic budget for the implementation of your marketing strategy.
  6. Measurable Objectives: Set clear, measurable objectives to evaluate the success of your marketing strategy.

Guidelines and Boundaries

Product: Your end product consists of an extensive marketing plan including market analysis,
strategy and communication plan, budgeting, and measurable objectives. This plan must be presented in a professional format, suitable for presentation to the management of Vierhaven Studio. Additionally, you must produce and test prototypes of your marketing strategy with both the client and target audience. Your ideas must be unique. Direct copies of existing (national or international) marketing concepts and ideas are not allowed.
